Sacha Distel est naît le 29 juillet 1933 à Paris. Issu d’une famille russe ayant fuit la révolution en 1917, Sacha est le neveu du chef d’orchestre Ray Ventura. Au cours des années 1950, il rencontre Henri Salvador qui le forme à la guitare jazz et lui transmet son amour pour la musique de la Nouvelle-Orléans.

Dès 1963, il anime l’émission musicale Sacha Show où il commente l’actualité. Sacha Distel revient sur le devant de la scène en 2001 en incarnant le personnage principal de la comédie musicale Chicago à Londres. En 2004, le chanteur décède des suites d’un cancer.
